Activity Description
"Bobby Beauty Parlour"聽is a 19-minute short film from India (2024) about girlhood, grief, and growing up. The story follows Manu and Eelu, who are trapped indoors on the hottest day of summer for one last day together. One of them leaves the city for bigger ambitions, while the other struggles with being left behind, exploring what it takes to maintain a friendship on the brink of change. The film is inspired by women and girls who raised each other in beauty parlours and similar bubble-like spaces, focusing on the tenderness of female friendship and the anxieties of growing up. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and an audience Q&A.
