Deadgrass is a five‑member string band that interprets the music of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead through bluegrass, drawing on influences such as Old & In the Way and Garcia’s early jug band work. The group was formed when Matt Turk and C. Lanzbom joined forces and now includes bassist Dave Richards, banjo player Scott Hopkins and fiddler Kensuke Shoji. Their performances feature banjo, fiddle, guitar, bass and vocal harmonies with improvisational jams.
