🎹"light and generous maximalism" is how Blais describes it
🎶Influences span Arvo Pärt, Beethoven, TLC and Portishead
🪑Grab a table seat: outer ring faces performers' backs
Pianist Jean-Michel Blais trades minimalism for something bigger: a 12-part wordless chorus, baroque singers, strings, and Andean zampoña. His new album "mirador" sweeps from Québécois childhood memories to Estonian forests.
