Activity Description

The Tony-winning musical "The Wiz" returns with a new staging for the 21st century, marking its first tour in 40 years. This production is a soul, gospel, funk, and R&B-fused reimagining of Frank L. Baum's "The Wizard of Oz." Directed by Schele Williams, with additional material by Amber Ruffin and choreography by Jaquel Knight, the musical follows Dorothy, Toto, Tinman, Scarecrow, and Lion as they travel the Yellow Brick Road. The show features well-known numbers such as 'Be the Lion' and 'Ease on Down the Road'. "The Wiz" originally debuted on Broadway in 1975, winning seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, and was later adapted into a film starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.
