Subterranean voice cathedral
Washington Avenue Coalition / Memorial Park, Houston
Reviewers recommend buying tickets directly from the Buffalo Bayou Partnership website in advance, especially for weekends.
Reviewers advise arriving early to allow time for parking and check-in before your scheduled time slot.
Reviewers note the space is dim and occasionally goes dark, which may feel uncomfortable if you are claustrophobic.
Voices ripple through a century-old underground reservoir along a mile-long network of LED lines. Visitors attend Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's interactive sound and light installation inside the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, featuring poetry by Nick Flynn, Aris Kian, Martha Serpas, Jennifer Teets, and Roberto Tejada.
