Orchestra of St. Luke’s and Joseph Parrish: Finding an American Voice

Lincoln Square

This chamber concert traces the unlikely friendship between Black composer Harry T. Burleigh and Czech maestro Antonín Dvořák, whose collaboration wove spirituals into the DNA of American classical music. Violin, piano, and baritone bring their story to life through Burleigh's songs and Dvořák's sunny Sonatina.
