Two rare Caravaggios hang in this pocket-sized Loches gallery, acquired straight from the master by a local nobleman four centuries ago and only recently authenticated. The paintings are quieter than his famous dramatic works, but seeing genuine Caravaggio brushwork in an intimate setting is its own kind of magic.
