Steve Turre's sextet brings decades of hard-swinging chops to a close-quarters basement room where the front row is basically on stage. The trombonist, fresh from the Saturday Night Live band, stretches out with soulful blues and Latin originals while the late-night crowd — heavy on fellow musicians — feeds energy back to the band until the early hours.
