Hadestown is an acclaimed Broadway musical by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin, winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The production intertwines two mythic tales — young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and Queen Persephone — in a folk-opera journey to the underworld and back. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, singers, dancers and musicians, the show asks audiences to imagine how the world could be. The show runs 2 hours and 30 minutes with one 15-minute intermission at the historic Walter Kerr Theatre.
