This 12-mile paved trail runs from Niles Canyon all the way to the Bay's salt flats, and somehow stays practically empty even on sunny weekends. Flat, wide, and shaded by eucalyptus and pepper trees, it's a rare slice of solitude where you might not see another soul for miles.
