Activity Description

PSIA is hosting Ambassador Jamieson Greer, the 20th United States Trade Representative and a Sciences Po alumnus, for a keynote speech. Following the speech, there will be a discussion with PSIA Dean Arancha González and students. Ambassador Greer's biography highlights his role in President Trump's cabinet, where he prioritized "America First" trade policies, combating unfair foreign trade practices, expanding market access for "Made in America" products, and ensuring balanced trading relationships. He previously served as Chief of Staff to Ambassador Robert Lighthizer, where he was involved in tariffs on China, the U.S.-China Phase One Agreement, and the negotiation and congressional approval of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Outside of government, he practiced international trade and national security law. His earlier career includes service in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps, with a deployment to Iraq. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a joint Master in Global Business Law from Sciences Po and l’Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
