Casco Antiguo

The Orquesta Joven de Andalucía marks 30 years with a program bridging Spain and Latin America. Mexican conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto leads the youth orchestra through de Falla, Chávez, and Gabriela Ortiz's commissioned "Antrópolis," with Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia tackling Shostakovich's demanding Cello Concerto. The night ends with Moncayo's "Huapango," Mexico's unofficial anthem.
