Activity Description
Jepson Prairie Preserve and its adjacent properties protect one of California’s largest remaining vernal pool and native bunchgrass prairie ecosystems. The preserve is home to ten endangered species, including the Delta green ground beetle, Conservancy fairy shrimp, and Solano grass, which are rarely found elsewhere. The vernal pools also attract migratory birds such as stilts, avocets, and snow geese. The property is open for self-guided tours, but docent-led tours offer more in-depth information and access to areas typically closed to the public.
Suitability
Trails are very wet, so waterproof footwear is encouraged.
