Washington Irving drank here in 1828 and wished for eternal life just to keep sipping the wine. This historic grocery and bar, possibly one of Spain's oldest, overflows with Fino Pavón, Manzanilla Papirusa, and the same devotion to tradition that made him swoon. Owner Pepe started working the shelves at thirteen and still curates every bottle and cured meat at age 85.
