Activity Description
The third edition of The Bengaluru Debates will explore whether radical transparency regarding budgets, spending, and outcomes can rebalance accountability and reshape the governance of Bengaluru. The discussion will address the estimated ₹38,000 crore spent on the city in 2021–22, highlighting the lack of a consolidated view of this expenditure and its consequences for citizens (traffic, flooding, water stress). The session will begin with a short context-setting, followed by a panel discussion and an audience Q&A. This dialogue series aims to expand civic space, foster conversations through a civic lens, and bridge the gap between policy, practice, and public discourse on urban governance challenges to catalyze citizen and policymaker engagement.
