Activity Description

This is an advance screening of "MAQUISARDS," a French documentary from 2026 with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The film, based on the logbook of Gleb Sivirine (Lieutenant Vallier), chronicles the journey of young volunteers who awaited the arrival of Allied troops during wartime. Eighty years later, seven young individuals from various local missions in Var, all the same age as the 1944 volunteers, are chosen to bring this story to the stage. Alongside rehearsals, they embark on a historical investigation, tracing the footsteps of the Vallier resistance group. Over several months, the project evolves into a unique human adventure, blending the history of theatrical creation with that of the resistance. The screening will be attended by the director as part of the "Tournée des Écrans du Sud."
