Fort Greene

Fifty years after his poem "Dread Beat an' Blood" first shook listeners, Linton Kwesi Johnson returns to the spotlight for the North American premiere of Franco Rosso's newly restored 1979 documentary. The film captures Johnson as a young poet-musician channeling reggae and verse to fight racism in Brixton, followed by a live poetry performance and conversation about art as protest.
