  • Activity Description: This event features esteemed Buddhist scholar Thupten Jinpa, Ph.D., who will explore how compassion, mindfulness, and the understanding of emptiness can transform how individuals relate to difficult emotions and deepen their sense of well-being. Jinpa will discuss the origin of emotions in response to perceptions of reality and how mindful awareness can interrupt habitual patterns of anger, attachment, and fear. Through practical teachings and contemplative insight, he will demonstrate how "holding" difficult emotions with curiosity and without judgment fosters greater clarity, compassion, and emotional resilience. The talk will also delve into the Buddhist understanding of interdependence and the nature of experience as an antidote to destructive emotional states. Jinpa will offer ideas for cultivating emotional balance, inner strength, and a more purposeful and compassionate way of living. All proceeds from this talk will support Gaden Shartse Dokhang Khangston in building a new dorm and prayer hall.
