Sheila Hicks has spent seven decades proving fiber belongs in the sculpture hall. Her first SFMOMA solo show spans intimate weavings to a site-specific architectural installation, all drawing from textures and patterns gathered during her Paris life: cobblestones, lighthouse beams, the poetry of everyday surfaces woven into form.
