39th Annual Loisaida Festival 2026
June 11 at 10am
Since 1987, the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend has meant one thing on the Lower East Side: Loisaida Festival. This year marks the 39th annual celebration of Latinx and immigrant culture along Avenue C (Loisaida Avenue), spanning eight blocks from 5th to 12th Street. What started as a neighborhood gathering has grown into the largest ethnic community pride event in the area, drawing 15,000+ visitors for live music, street theater, artisan vendors, food stalls, and cultural activations that honor the Nuyorican spirit Tato Laviera captured in his 1985 poem "AmeRΓcan." The 2026 poster by artist Maite Nazario sets the tone: a testament to the brilliance and resilience of a community still imagining its future.
