Activity Description
Join an evening of conversation and music featuring Michael R. Jackson and Anna K. Jacobs, the creators of the Off-Broadway musical Teeth. The event will include a moderated discussion with Jackson and Jacobs, led by Stacy E. Wolf, focusing on the making of Teeth and musical theater's power to challenge, provoke, and entertain. Live performances from the show will be presented by the original Off-Broadway cast, including Alyse Alan Louis. An audience Q&A session will follow.
The musical Teeth, based on the cult-classic film, is a darkly comedic satire that follows Dawn O’Keefe, an Evangelical teen whose secret rows of protective vaginal teeth lead to a bloody reckoning with misogyny and repression within purity culture. The production, hailed as a breakout hit, blends satire and social critique with an irresistibly catchy score.
The event will be available both in-person at The Center for Fiction and livestreamed.
