Activity Description

A selection of shorts by experimental filmmaker Ken Jacobs will be screened. The program includes:

  • Orchard Street: Documents the tradition of haggling and bargain hunting on the commercial thoroughfare.
  • The Whirled and Little Stabs at Happiness: Collections of silent segments made between 1956 and 1963.
  • Blonde Cobra: Features fellow underground icon Jack Smith. Jonas Mekas dubbed it "the masterpiece of Baudelairean cinema."
  • Window: An experiment in perception contemplating a window frame and the exterior beyond, involving lenses and screens.

The screenings will be presented with Q&As with Ken Jacobs and projected on 35mm. The total running time (TRT) is 107 minutes.
