Crossroads Theatre Company stages this landmark 1972 play about a man who must choose between disappearing under apartheid or reinventing himself to survive. Written by Athol Fugard, John Kani, and Winston Ntshona—whose original Broadway performances won Tony Awards in 1975—this 50th anniversary production is directed by Ricardo Khan in collaboration with Kani, the last surviving member of the creative team. The 95-minute performance runs without intermission at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center from May 19 through June 14, 2026.
