The Marstallmuseum proves that fairy-tale royalty traveled in serious style. Over 40 carriages and sleighs from the Wittelsbach family fill the former royal stables, including the world's only collection of King Ludwig II's own vehicles, each one a gilded, velvet-draped fantasy on wheels. Upstairs, the Nymphenburg Porcelain Museum traces the manufactory's evolution from 1747 through delicate sculptures and painted plates.
