Activity Description
A screening of Lucrecia Martel’s 2008 psychological thriller, "The Headless Woman," presented in a new 4K restoration. The film, running 87 minutes, follows Veroníca (María Onetto), a poised professional who becomes increasingly unhinged after a possible hit-and-run incident in rural Argentina. Martel's third feature, praised for its tension developed through behavioral eccentricities, unusual aural landscapes, and radical screen composition, will be shown in a new 4K restoration. Director Lucrecia Martel will be present for the screening and a post-screening Q&A session.
The restoration was carried out from a 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative, a first-generation internegative, and the original digital sound mix, with reference elements including a duplicate negative and a vintage 35mm release print.
