Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden (PAPU)

Stanford

Thirty years ago, 10 artists from Papua New Guinea's Sepik River region came to Stanford and carved 40 massive wooden posts, figures, and slit drums right on campus. The result is a leafy, unexpected pocket of Pacific culture where clan stories and creation myths emerge from towering timber.
