Activity Description

Join a gallery talk led by Anthea Black, curator of "The Embodied Press: queer abstraction and the artist’s book." The event will explore new research on artist's books and publications by queer and transgender artists featured in "The Embodied Press" exhibition. The discussion will focus on artist's books, zines, and graphic novels that utilize letterpress, screenprinting, and risograph techniques. Black will discuss how these works convey experiences that are deeply felt but challenging to express through language or imagery alone, particularly those that embrace abstraction and the handmade. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and refreshments.
