Saint-Denis

Nuns built dollhouse versions of their cells to show outsiders what cloistered life looked like. This exhibition unveils hundreds of these "silent yet eloquent" miniatures: wax dolls, paper silhouettes, and tiny recreated objects that let contemplative women speak across centuries of confinement.

Contemplative women's history
19th century craftsmanship
Monastic material culture
