Willow Waterhole Greenway

Houston

A 280-acre nature preserve in southwest Houston where detention ponds become wildlife habitat. Miles of paved trails wind through prairie grasses and wetlands, home to herons, turtles, deer, and migratory birds. The greenway also hosts a disc golf course, volunteer events, and prairie restoration days. Surrounded by suburban neighborhoods yet surprisingly wild, it shifts with the seasons: wildflowers in spring, green canopies in summer, golden grasses in fall.
