One of spring's most fleeting spectacles is happening right now: about 60 cherry trees at the Japanese Tea Garden are flowering in rolling waves of pink and white. The Yoshino cherries go first with pale, almost-white blossoms that turn the canopy into something out of a Miyazaki film, followed by the showier Kwanzan cherries with heavier, double-petaled pink blooms.
