• Activity Description: A special 12th-anniversary screening of Richard Linklater’s film Boyhood. Filmed over 12 years with the same cast, the movie tells the story of growing up through the eyes of Mason (Ellar Coltrane), who literally grows up on screen. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette star as Mason’s parents, and Lorelei Linklater plays his sister Samantha. The film covers adolescence through road trips, family dinners, birthdays, and graduations, set to a soundtrack featuring songs from Coldplay and Arcade Fire. Boyhood is a nostalgic look at the recent past and an ode to growing up and parenting. The film has a running time of 165 minutes.
