Lower East Side, New York
Step into the shadows of Dominican history with this intimate portrait of Joaquín Balaguer, the blind poet-statesman who ruled for 22 years. EL GALLO peels back the layers of power, poetry, and complicity in a performance that confronts the contradictions of a man who served Trujillo's tyranny for three decades.
