Classical Music
19th Arr., Paris
Mahler's sprawling Ninth Symphony meets live storytelling in this unique concert format. As the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France sweeps through the composer's final work, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt narrates between movements, weaving Mahler's tragedy-laced biography directly into the music. The Philharmonie's pristine acoustics make every emotional swell hit home.
